Finding Geospatial Data: Social Science Focus

Wondering where to look for geospatial (GIS) data for your class project or research? This workshop introduces best practices & key resources so that you can find the data you need! We'll take a look at some of the major sources for geospatial data in the social sciences, including where to find population, economic, and other demographic data, boundary files, and info about housing and quality of life. The workshop will include hand-on practice searching and retrieving data, including both free resources and data that the UC Berkeley libary has licensed.

There will be laptops available to use during the workshop, or you are free to bring your own.
